By Train:
Take a taxi or city bus from Lisbon airport to Oriente station (in portuguese "Estação do Oriente").
If you take the city bus make sure it says on the top "Oriente".
Check www.cp.pt then press in timetables and prices and choose:
From: Lisboa - Oriente; To: Coimbra-B
Select the date and then press OK. Then you will have the train timetable from Lisboa to Coimbra.
We suggest you to take Intercidades (IC) or Alfapendular(AP) because this way you don't have to switch trains plus the trip is shorter and much more confortable
By Bus:
Take a taxi to "Sete Rios" bus station. Check www.rede-expressos.pt. for schedules,
Press "Horários e preços" (Schedules and Prices) and choose:
Origem (From): Lisboa ; Destino (To): Coimbra, then OK.
And then check only the ones that say "Diariamente" (it means every day).
You will have by this order, Leaving time (Partida), time of arrival (Chegada), Price (Preço).
The trip will be 2 hours and 20 minutes more or less and it will cost around 13,50€
How to arrive from Porto to Coimbra
When leaving the airpoty head towards to metro.![]()
In the metro station, take the option BUY NEW TICKET and select Z4.
Price: 1.70Eur+0.50Eur=2,20Eur (machine accepts Notes and gives change)
!IMPORTANT! Validate the ticket by approaching the ticket to the yellow machines (as shown in the picture) until a green light is shown and a single bip sounds. You have to buy one ticket per person.
Take the Metro that says ESTADIO DO DRAGÃO. Exit at CAMPANHÃ. (It’s the 19th station of your travel and the trip should last about 33min).
NOTE: the line you are going to travel is marked in purple.
You have just left the metro inside the railway station of Campanhã / Porto. You have to go to the TICKET OFFICE, and ask for a trip to COIMBRA. There are 3 choices of trains REGIONAL, INTERCIDADES and ALFA PENDULAR.

The prices shown for Intercidades and Alfa Pendular are for 2nd class (in Portugal 1st and 2nd class are quite the same thing) the tickets sometimes cost 1,25€ more because they might sell you the ticket to Coimbra-B.
Note: If you take the regional train to Coimbra you will have to make a train change in Aveiro. It’s the train last stop and you will notice that everyone gets out of the train. The train you should catch next is usually in the same line, you just need to walk down the line a few meters, if you can’t find it, ask someone.
!IMPORTANT! the tickets to a more central location this station is called Coimbra-A. This station is more central easy to locate, and easier for us to pick you up or direct you upon your arrival to Coimbra. We advise you to when you buy your ticket to choose Coimbra-A, but the cheaper option is Coimbra B.
